Our online passport photo maker offers a complete set of features to ensure high quality and accurate results

Can I use a selfie taken with my phone?

Avoid selfies, as the angle is usually too low while taking a selfie; you may often face lens distortion from proximity, which can make your features look unnatural.

Why must I bring a physical photo to the District Commissioner’s office?

You must bring a physical, high-quality photograph printed on professional photographic paper. District Commissioner’s office requires a hard copy to finalize your application and verify your identity.

Does the photo need to be in color, or is black-and-white acceptable?

Your Iceland driving license must be in color. Black-and-white photos or those with sepia or other filters will not be accepted. The image must clearly reflect your natural skin tone and appearance.

Are shadows on the background a problem?

Yes, it is a frequent cause for rejection. The background must be plain and evenly lit. Avoid standing too close to a wall, which often casts a shadow; instead, position yourself slightly forward to ensure the light is distributed evenly across the background behind you.
